Description

White Flower on Indigo

A single white flower fills the canvas, its petals built up in thick layers with a palette knife so that the surface catches the light. The golden centre and the soft pink edges of the petals glow against a deep indigo and ultramarine background.

Painted in 2020, the work sits between still life and abstraction, with the texture of the paint playing as large a part as the image itself.

Size: 50 × 50 × 2 cm (19.69 × 19.69 × 0.79 in)
