Description
Peacemaker
Red, blue, green and black meet in an intense abstract composition. Layers of thick paint build depth and movement across the canvas, as fragments of colour break apart and come together again.
The painting reflects on the instability of the contemporary world and on the real meaning of the word “Peacemaker”. Is a peacemaker someone who truly brings peace, or can actions taken in the name of peace also cause destruction? The painting gives no simple answer, and this contradiction is part of the work itself.
The painting was created in March 2024. It was published in A LIKE ARTIST Vol. 03, the collectors’ art book by AL-TIBA9 Contemporary Art, Barcelona, released in November 2024 in a limited edition of 500 copies.
Medium: Oil on cotton canvas
Size: 60 × 90 cm (24 × 35 in)
Main colours: coral red, light blue, olive green, grey, black and sand beige
